Renewable for 4 years (5 years for Architecture students) with 30 hours per year and
2.75 GPA.
Awarded to students who have been in foster care from Arkansas (in home) for at least
one full year, who have need or who have been declared as independent through FAFSA,
and who have demonstrated academic potential. Students selected as Fostering Success
Scholars will also participate in a peer and faculty mentoring program. Fostering
Success Scholars will have opportunities to get involved in engagement activities
on campus and in the community. Students interested in applying for this award should
call the Academic Scholarship Office at 479-575-4464. Each applicant will have an
advisor assist them with the full application process which includes an application
for admission by January 15th (apply.uark.edu), completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and the University
of Arkansas Scholarship application by February 1. Students are encouraged to complete
the process (with their University of Arkansas advisor) by the early consideration
deadline of Nov. 15th as they may also be eligible for additional awards.
