The primary role of the Academic Scholarship Office is to administer university-wide merit-based scholarships and serve as a central resource for prospective and current undergraduate students seeking scholarship funding. The office also serves as a clearinghouse for scholarships awarded by academic departments and outside agencies. Our goal is to support the university's mission of recruiting and retaining high-achieving students who enrich and diversify the academic environment of the University of Arkansas.

New Freshman Scholarships

NOVEMBER 1 - Priority Admissions Deadline: Complete an admissions application, submit transcripts, and send test scores to the office of admissions by this date. Within 48 hours of application submission, the scholarship application will be available in your New Student Center.

NOVEMBER 15 - Priority Scholarship Deadline: Submit a scholarship application by this date for priority consideration for academic scholarships.

FEBRUARY 1 - Final Scholarship Deadline: Submit all required materials by this date for scholarship consideration.

Priority deadlines have been updated for the Fall 2025/Spring 2026 application cycle.

Transfer Scholarships

ADMISSIONS: Complete an admissions application by March 15 to be considered for the April 1 fall scholarship deadline and by October 1 to be considered for the October 15 spring scholarship deadline. Within 48 hours of application submission, the scholarship application will be available in your New Student Center.

APRIL 1 - Scholarship Deadline for Fall Semester: Submit transcripts and a completed scholarship application by this date to be considered for an academic scholarship for the fall semester.

OCTOBER 15 - Scholarship Deadline for Spring Semester: Submit transcripts and a completed scholarship application by this date to be considered for an academic scholarship for the spring semester.

State and Federal Financial Aid for New and Current Students

Current and prospective University of Arkansas students interested in federal or state financial assistance should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as the 2024-2025 FAFSA opens. The Title IV code for the University of Arkansas is 001108.
