Military Students at the University of Arkansas

The Academic Scholarship Office seeks to assist Military Students at the University of Arkansas in finding new scholarship opportunities to help fund their University of Arkansas education. Students should be prepared to apply for multiple scholarship programs. The following list of resources is a good place to start. Please remember that every scholarship program is different. Please refer to the individual scholarship applications to determine the requirements of each scholarship program.

Military Service Members Scholarship

This program is administered by the Academic Scholarship Office. Students from all academic majors and disciplines are encouraged to apply. Scholarships are awarded to both incoming and currently enrolled students at the University of Arkansas. This program awards approximately 25 one-year scholarships valued up to $4,000 each. Students interested in applying may proceed to the Military Scholarship Application.

Military Dependent Scholarship

This program is administered by the Academic Scholarship Office. Students from all academic majors and disciplines are encouraged to apply. Scholarships are awarded to both incoming and currently enrolled students at the University of Arkansas. This program awards approximately 10 one-year scholarships valued up to $1,500 each. Students interested in applying may proceed to the Military Scholarship Application.

Military Book Scholarship

This program is administered by the Academic Scholarship Office. Students from all academic majors and disciplines are encouraged to apply. These scholarships are only awarded to currently enrolled students at the University of Arkansas. This program awards 10 $500 scholarships each fall and spring semester. Students interested in applying may proceed to the Military Book Scholarship Application.

Tillman Military Scholarships

The University of Arkansas is a University Partner with the Pat Tillman Foundation for the administration and selection of Tillman Military Scholars. The Tillman Military Scholars program endeavors to support military service members and their spouses through scholarship support. As a University Partner, the University of Arkansas is able to nominate up to 10 students every year to the Pat Tillman Foundation for consideration to be selected a Tillman Military Scholar. Military Educational Benefits

The University of Arkansas is approved by the Arkansas Department of Higher Education and the Federal Department of Veterans' Affairs to participate in benefit programs for veterans and their dependents who are working toward a degree. Also, the University of Arkansas has signed the Department of Defense Memorandum of Understanding required for all Active Duty, National Guard, and Reservists to use their Federal Tuition Assistance Benefits. Current or former service members and their dependents may be entitled to educational assistance from various federal programs. Information about these programs can be found through the Veterans Resource and Information Center.

Military Service Relief Societies

The various service branches of the United States Military have independent non-profit organizations that provide relief funding for service members and\or their families.
