Veterans' Scholarship

The deadline for submitting online application materials for the Veterans’ Scholarship has been extended till Friday, May 15, 2009 at 5:00 pm. If you are experiencing technical problems, please email Garrick D. Hildebrand, ghildeb@uark.edu, before the deadline.

The University of Arkansas proudly offers 20 scholarships to support current and former members of the United States military services. The non-renewable scholarships are valued at $3,000 for the academic year, to be split equally between fall and spring semesters.

Part of the funding for the scholarships comes from a prize awarded to the athletic department. The Razorbacks won the “Pontiac Game Changing Performance of the Week” award for the week of December 5, 2008. The University received a $5,000 scholarship contribution from Pontiac, and vice chancellor and athletic director Jeff Long designated that money for the newly established veterans’ scholarships. “We all owe a debt of gratitude to those who have chosen to serve and defend this great nation,” said Long.
