***IMPORTANT MESSAGE***UA scholarship deadline has been extended due to winter storm
The University of Arkansas deadline for new freshmen scholarships has been extended to Monday, February 4th, 2008. The online application will close at 5 p.m. on Monday, February 4th. The deadline is a postmark deadline for paper applications, meaning that any application items mailed(postmarked) by Monday, February 4th will be considered on-time. Students are encouraged to complete the application online to avoid the need to mail materials. In the event that mailing is necessary, students and High Schools should consider using a mailing service such as UPS, DHL, or FED-EX. We strongly suggest using a carrier that offers a tracking service.

Online Scholarship Application Server
The Office of Academic Scholarships has received phone calls from a few students that have experienced difficulties while attempting to apply online for new freshmen scholarships. These errors may be related to the increased website traffic near the deadline. Students are encouraged to wait 30 minutes and then try again. After multiple failed attempts, students are encouraged to print and complete the .pdf version of the application available on our website. We recommend using a mailing service such as UPS, DHL, or FED-EX. We strongly suggest using a carrier that offers a tracking service.

Outside Scholarship Processing
Attention Outside Scholarship Recipients: Due to the implementation of a new outside scholarship processing system, the University is experiencing significant delays. Please allow up to 4 weeks from the date an outside scholarship check was mailed to the university for us to process and apply it to your student account. We apologize for the delay. If you have questions about how this delay will affect your payment plan, please contact the Student Accounts Office at (479) 575-5651. Once the Treasurer’s Office has processed your outside scholarship check, a message will appear in your financial aid section of ISIS. Thank you for your patience. This new system will significantly increase the level of transparency regarding your outside scholarships. We are confident the future benefits of the system will outweigh this temporary delay.

Scholarship Deadlines
Due to the weather and several school cancellations across Arkansas, three important scholarship deadlines have been extended. The applications for Honors College fellowships, academic scholarships, and alumni scholarship have all been extended from February 1st to Monday, February 5th. Please remember that this is a postmark deadline. We hope that this effort will help to compensate for any unforeseen delays as a result of the weather. Please be advised that the online and printable applications will be closing as of 1:00 pm CST Friday, February 2. The extension is intended to allow students who have already begun the application process to finalize any paperwork.
